Race Report - Rockbuster Duathlon

An off-road duathlon at Ashland State Park, Ashland, MA. The race starts with a 2 mile trail run, followed by a 6 mile mountain bike, and ends with another 2 mile run.

A real fast course. My strategy was to push real hard at the start and see how things turned out. I red-lined it on the first run, coming in at 6th, almost able to see the leaders. North Shore Dave was right behind me and passed me in the transition. I soon passed him while he was tightening his shoes, but he then passed me back. I lost traction on one of the hills had to clip out. After losing that one second, I was unable to catch back up to Dave. By the end of the bike I was in third, passing one guy during the bike-to-run transition. He was real strong after going so slow on the bike and he smoked by me and North Shore Dave. I ended up fourth overall and Dave was third. One of my better races.
